There's always something new to learn!
I went to our local framing shop over the weekend to find out how much it will cost to frame my pieces. I was really caught off guard when the sales gal informed me that they couldn't do a frame that I was interested in doing. Um, what? Isn't this a frame shop? All I want is a simple "shadow box" frame, nothing ornate or fancy. She dismissed me by saying, "Perhaps you should just go down to the hardware store, get some trim moulding and make them yourself". What a sweetheart. **eyeroll** Okie dokie then, off to the hardware store I go! I found some lattice trim that is the width I need, had it cut and home I headed. Well, I guess I'm going to be making my own art frames. I have a bit to learn (thank you You Tube!) and a few more supplies to pick up, and we'll see how this whole thing comes together. In the long run this will save me quite a bit of money, so perhaps the snarky sales gal really did me a big favor after all. You never know what will send you where you need to be. ~Peace!
**Update** With the help of my dad's old miter box, I made my first frame, and I must say it didn't turn out too bad!
